Type species: Epilachna fraterna Mulsant, 1850 ; by subsequent designation of Korschefsky (1931).
Distribution by States in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Pernambuco; Bahia.
Species from the Northeast Region of Brazil. Mada gounellei Gordon, 1975 ; Mada lineatopunctata ( Germar, 1824) .
Comments. Mada has 45 species and the genus is distributed throughout Central and South America ( Tomaszewska & Szawaryn 2016; Szawaryn & González 2017). Fourteen species occur in Brazil, but only M. gounellei and M. lineatopunctata are documented for NE Brazil ( Gordon 1975).
