Distribution: In India: Tamil Nadu, Karnataka; Elsewhere: Yemen; Sri Lanka; Iran; Afghanistan; Pakistan; Tajikistan; Thailand; United Kingdom; Saudi Arabia, China: Fujian, Hainan, Hong Kong ( Fletcher 1920; Kasy 1973; Heckford 2003; Koçak & Kemal 2012; Koçak & Kemal 2014; Wang et al. 2021b; Rajeshwari et al. 2025).

Host: Bred from blackish larvae found in fluffy masses of Pulvinaria (scale insects) on Ficus racemosa ( = Ficus glomerata ) ( Fletcher 1920; Kasy 1973; Robinson et al. 2023); larvae in the calyx of Punica granatum ( Lythraceae ) ( Heckford 2003); inflorescence of Mangifera indica ( Anacardiaceae ) ( Rajeshwari et al. 2025).
