Empis (Enoplempis) mira View in CoL species group
( Figs 210–217 View FIGURES 210–217 )
Five species are included in this group, E. (En.) macdonaldi Sinclair, Brooks & Cumming, E. (En.) mira (Bigot) , E. (En.) submira Sinclair, Brooks & Cumming, E. (En.) williamturneri Sinclair, Brooks & Cumming and E. (En.) winkleri Sinclair, Brooks & Cumming ), which are distinguished by the directionally asymmetrical male hind femur and tibia, geniculate female hindleg, male terminalia with pair of subepandrial processes and tarsomeres without prominent spine-like ventral setae. See Sinclair et al. (2021) for revision of the E. mira species group, although these species ( Figs 210–217 View FIGURES 210–217 ) are included in the identification key to males of western Empis (Enoplempis) below. The mating behaviour and form of nuptial gift presentation exhibited by this species group is currently unknown.
