Glabrous. Stems 20-100 cm. Leaves c. 2 cm, ovate-lanceolate, obtuse, brown, with scarious, more or less denticulate margin. Spike 10-20 cm. Bracts 15-20 mm, irregularly crenulate; bracteoles oblong-lanceolate, slightly shorter than calyx. Calyx 13-18 mm, with short, ovate-orbicular, crenulate lobes. Corolla 30-40(-60) x 20-30 mm, bright shining yellow; tube usually curved; lobes ovate-orbicular, erecto-patent. Anthers and filament-bases hairy. Capsule c. 12 mm, ovoid. 2« = 40. On woody Chenopodiaceae . S. Spain, S. Portugal; Kriti; one recordfrom N. IV. Spain. Cr Hs Lu. (N. Africa, Arabia.)
