Perennial herbs. Verticillasters 2- to 6-flowered, distant. Calyx 2-lipped; upper lip irregularly toothed or entire; lower lip usually 2-lobed, shorter than the upper. Corolla 2-lipped; upper lip weakly hooded; lower lip 3-lobed.
