Caespitose, with woody,creeping shoots bearing erect flowering stems 2-7 cm and axillary clusters of small leaves. Leaves c. 8x 1-7 mm, narrowly spathulate, glabrous, cibate at base. Inflorescence lax, with 2-flowered verticillasters. Bracts similar tothe leaves. Calyx 3-4 mm; upper teeth almostobsolete, not cibate, the lower teeth flat, as long as wide. Corolla 6-14 mm, purplish-pink or whitish. Portugal, N. W. Spain, Açores. Az Hs Lu. Sect. PiPERELLA Willk. Smab shrubs. Leaves coriaceous, not cibate, distinctly petiolate; margins flat. Flowers not forming a distinct inflorescence; at least lower cymes often pedunculate. Bracts similar to the leaves. Calyx-tube cylindrical; upper teeth as long as wide, not cibate. Corolla distinctly longer than calyx, with narrow tube.
