Fetid shrubs. Leaves alternate, simple. Flowers actinomorphic, in axillary or terminal leafy racemes. Calyx tubular, 5-dentate, persistent. Corolla tubular-infundibuliform. Stamens 5, included, inserted near base of corolla. Stigma 2-lobed. Fruit a 2-locular berry; seeds 2-11.
