Biennial 20-60 cm. Stem stout, branched above. Rosette-leaves 5-8 cm, spathulate-oblong, obtuse, 5-veined; cauline leaves gradually decreasing in size upwards, elliptic-oblong, subacute. Flowers c. 15 mm, in a dense corymbose cyme. Calyx £-£ as long as the corolla-tube. Corolla-lobes 5-6 mm, c. J as long as the corolla-tube. 2« = 20. Mountain regions o f S. W. Europe. 1Ga Hs.
