Perennial 15^10 cm. Stems usually several from the basal rosette, stout, ascending, often purplish. Leaves oblong-ovate, obtuse, 3-veined, sheathing at base; cauline numerous. Corolla 20-25 mm, 4-lobed, bluish to greenish outside, clear blue inside; appendages in the sinus 1-several. Anthers free. Ovary sessile. Seeds not winged. 2/2 = 52. S., C. & E. Europe, extending north-westwards to the Netherlands; local. Al Au Be Bu Cz Ga Ge Gr He Ho Hs Hu It Ju Po Rm Rs (N, B, C, W, K, E).
