Range:— Andes from Colombia to Venezuela and Bolivia (LP). Ecology:— Uncommon; terrestrial in humid forests, especially along roads and trails; 1100–2100 m. Notes:— Related and similar to C. grandis , but smaller (leaves 1–2 m vs. 1.5–2.5 m long), with more coriaceous, narrower pinnae ( 2–3 cm vs. 2–4.5 cm wide), and more falcate segments.
