Lithobius ( Sigibius) View in CoL : Eason, 1983: 140

Diagnosis: Body length 7–10 mm. Antenna with 25 or more articles. Ocelli 3–7, arranged in either one or two irregular rows. Forcipular coxosternal teeth 2+2; porodonts setiform, rarely short and stout. Tergites without posterior triangular projections. Tarsal articulation of legs 1–13 indistinct. Coxal pores arranged in one row.

Type species: Lithobius ( Sigibius) puritanus ( Chamberlin, 1913)

Remarks: Eason (1983: 140) suggested that these Lithobius species with antennal articles well in excess of 20 should be referred to the subgenus Sigibius , while many authors place those small species of Lithobius from the hemisphere with fused anterior tarsal articulations in the subgenus Monotarsobius Verhoeff, 1905 , regardless of the number of their antennal articles.
