tephra View in CoL ( Euxoa ), 1945: 84. [ Noctuinae . Noctuini ] ( Fig. 281 View FIGURES 274–289 )
Current status. Pseudoleucania tephra [ Poole 1989, following synonymization of Scania Olivares with Pseudoleucania Staudinger by Lafontaine 2004]
Type status (description). Cotypes in Köhler’s, Breyer’s collections, and Mus. Arg. Cienc. Nat.
Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]— San Luis: ( Daguerre ) .
Type specimens. MACN: Syntype ♀. S. Luis, Dagu . MACN _ En 41936 . ZSM: Syntype ♀. Argentina, Prov. San Luis, San Luis, Daguerre leg. Old label: S. Luis, Dagu. With “Hololectotipus” label .
Figures. Köhler, 1959b: fig. 6 male genitalia, fig. 3 (page 113) male genitalia details. Köhler, 1967: figs 186 male, 187 female.
Remarks. Although Köhler did not specify the sex of the cotypes, he described only the female. Köhler (1959b: 113) designated as “hololectotipus” one of those females cited as cotypes for the species, but he did not specify the data of the selected specimen. Probabily this female corresponds to the one found in the ZSM which should be considered as Lectotype designated by Köhler (1959b). Köhler (1959b: 113) also designated female paratypes located in the collections of Breyer, Köhler, Fleiss, Petrowsky, Llano and Orfila ; and male allotype and paratypes in the collections of Köhler, Fleiss, Petrowsky and Orfila, all subsequent invalid designations which should be considered non-type material (according to articles 72.1.1, 72.1.2 and 72.4.7 ICZN).
