petrea View in CoL ( Lycophotia ), 1945: 130. [ Noctuinae . Noctuini ] ( Fig. 223 View FIGURES 210–225 )
Current status. Pseudoleucania petrea [ Poole 1989]
Type status (description). Allotype in Köhler’s collection.
Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]— Mendoza: Potrerillos , 2600m., iii.1940 (Chiarelli) .
Type specimens. ZSM: Allotype ♀. Argentina, Prov. Mendoza, Potrerillos , 2000m, iii.1940, Chiarelli leg. Old label: Potrerillos, 2000, iii.40, Chiarelli.
Remarks. Although Köhler did not specify the sex of the allotype, he described only the female. As mentioned for Poliodestra albolimbata and other species, when Köhler based the description on a single female specimen he usually labeled it as allotype and, in this case, he designated it that way as well, but since it was the only specimen he had, it should be considered the holotype of the species.
