scientific name

Borolia lilloana
status

lilloana ( Borolia ), 1947: 101. [ Noctuinae . Leucanini] ( Fig. 150 View FIGURES 146–161 )

Current status. Leucania lilloana [ Poole 1989]

Type status (description). Cotypes in Köhler’s collection and Instituto Miguel Lillo .

Type locality and collectors. [ Argentina]— Tucumán: Siambón. Catamarca: Barranca Larga, Belén ( Schreiter ) .

Type specimens. IFML: Lectotype ♂. Barranca Larga, Dº Belén, ii.937. ZSM: Paralectotype ♂. Argentina, Prov. Catamarca, Dep Belén, Barranca Larga , 1.ii.1937, Schreiter leg. Old label: Barranca Larga, Dº Belen, 1.ii.37 .

Remarks. Poole (1989) mentioned this species as a secondary junior homonym of Cirphis lilloana Köhler, 1947 , but as he was not certain if they are congeneric, he did not propose an objective replacement name for the species. When looking at the type material it can be seen that they are surely not congeneric and, therefore, there is no homonymy. Redescription of specie and lectotype designation in Dolibaina et al. (2020).
