Genus Tonalteca Cruz-López and Francke View in CoL

Emended diagnosis

Modified from Cruz-López and Francke (2017). Troglomorphic species, ocularium high, conical, with long spine that may be single or bifid. Chelicera large and sexually dimorphic, basal tooth on movable blunt. Legs long, femur IV longer than the scutum, straight. Ornamentation from femur to metatarsus legs, formed by longitudinal rows of small and scattered spiniform setiferous tubercles. Pars distalis slightly compressed laterally, flimsy lamina short and slim, slightly curved dorsally, forming an angle with respect to the rest of par distalis. Follis with dorsal rounded lobe. Penis setal Stygnopsis pattern,

or three pairs of macrosetae C on sides of pars distalis, one or two pairs of macrosetae A in the penis, with one to three pairs of macrosetae B at the base of pars distalis. Two pairs of small

D lateral to base of follis. With no macrosetae E.

Comparisons

Externally, Tonalteca can be distinguished from Chinquipellobunus by the shape of the ocularium,

HISTORY genital pattern is completely different to the remaining stygnopsine. Pars distalis compressed a common shape between the epigean Hoplobunus and Isaeus SØrensen, 1932, but penises in genera have the pars distalis longer and slightly curved dorsally, with a different arrangement macrosetae. Lateral clear projections on mid-bulge of scutum are present in all genera with penis Paramitraceras pattern, of which only Toojah and Troglostygnopsis are troglobitic; these areas are Tonalteca .

Distribution

The genus is known only from cave systems in Northern Oaxaca and North Puebla, in the region of Sierra Norte de Oaxaca (discussion below), Mexico .
