Genus Dictyopselloides Loeblich & Tappan, 1985b View in CoL
Remarks: The genus Dictyopselloides Loeblich & Tappan, 1985b is monospecific so far with the type-species Dictyopselloides cuvillieri ( Gendrot, 1968) from the late Santonian of southern France described from isolated specimens and thin-sections ( Fig. 5 View Fig p-r). According to Loeblich & Tappan (1985b, p. 117), Conorbinella is the most primitive dictyopsellid, lacking rafters, followed by Dictyopselloides Loeblich & Tappan, 1985b with sporadic rafters and the complex Dictyopsella Munier-Chalmas in Schlumberger, 1900 exhibiting a well-developed subepidermal meshwork that ‘ occupies the entire surface area of the chambers ’ ( Loeblich & Tappan, 1985b, p. 177). The validity of Dictyopselloides however has been questioned by Albrich et al. (2015, p. 264), claiming the presence of rafters in Dictyopselloides cuvillieri thereby referring to the specimen shown in plate 5, figure 5 in Gendrot (1968). This view is unaccepted herein as this specimen, an equatorial section with welldeveloped meshwork, does not refer to D. cuvillieri but as indicated by Gendrot (1968) in the plate legend to Dictyopsella kiliani Munier-Chalmas in Schlumberger, 1900. Only the random and non-centered thin-section specimens (leading to some lack of knowledge of test structural details) account for the reservation of our generic assignment of the Chinese forms.
