Key to the species of genus Machilontus Silvestri
Paclt (1969) erected Machilontus sutteri borneensis as a subspecies of M. sutteri based on a single male specimen from Borneo, with 1+1 coxal vesicles on the coxosternite I. Mendes (1989) suggested the character was a generic one instead of specific one and the subspecies needed to be more carefully redescribed. Sturm & Bach (1988) provided a provisional key for 7 species in two subgenera of Machilontus , excluding M. sutteri borneensis for their incomplete descriptions. We herein provide a key to all known Machilontus species (also excluding M. sutteri borneensis ) based on modification of Sturm & Bach’s key (1988).
