Dorytomus Germar, 1817 View in CoL
[= D. subgen. Chaetodorytomus IablokovKhnzorian, 1970 , syn. nov.; = D. subgen. Euolamus Reitter, 1916 , syn. nov.; = D. subgen. Olamus Reitter, 1916 , syn. nov.] (Colonnelli, hoc opus). As already rightly pointed out by Dieckmann (1986), followed by Korotyaev et al. (1993), Egorov, Zherikhin & Korotyaev (1996), Krivets & Korotyaev (1998), there is no possibility to give subgeneric rank to any of the names proposed by Reitter (1916) and by IablokovKhnzorian (1970), since rostral length, pubescence, kind of setae on anterolateral pronotal edge, and incisure of ventral fore margin of pronotum vary in almost continuous way. In addition, biology of the several species of Dorytomus does not support the division of its members in different subgenera.
