Treatment

is here placed as a valid tribe in Ceutorhynchinae from synonymy with Ceutorhynchini . Shape of fore margin of pronotum, structure of vestiture, and apex of aedeagus bent downwards prevent us to consider its single genus Amalus Schönherr, 1825 as belonging in Ceutorhynchini (Colonnelli, hoc opus).
