Associated plants: Ericameria laricifolia (A.Gray) Shinners ( Asteraceae ), Gossypium sp. ( Malvaceae ), Bougainvillea sp. ( Nyctaginaceae ), Saccharum sp. ( Poaceae ) ( Meeds et al. 2021).
Remarks: Here we report for the first time the association of O. scurrilis with Simsia amplexicaulis (Cav.) Pers ( Asteraceae ) and Zea mays L. ( Poaceae ). Little is known about its geographic distribution, biology, life cycles, and immature stages. The data provided here represent the first records for Oaxaca. Brailovsky & Márquez (1974) recorded this species from Cuautla, Morelos and mentioned that records were known from Navojoa, Sonora and Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. In addition to these records, in iNaturalist we found observations in the states of Baja California Sur, Colima, Estado de México, Guerrero, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa and San Luís Potosí.
