Material examined: 2 specimens (♂) labeled: MEXICO, Oaxaca, Sta. María Chimalapas; Cerro Azul Reserve , Tropical montane cloud forest. 28-VIII-2022. UV light trap. Leg. Guzmán V, H. M. (1♂) // MEXICO, Oaxaca, Cuajinicuil. 20-X-2014. Leg. Ramírez, Y. G. (1♂). New state record .
Associated plants: No data
Remarks: Despite being a very colorful shield bug, there is little or no information on its distribution, biology, ecology, hosts and natural enemies. As for its habits, it is only known to be attracted to lights ( Torre-Bueno 1914; Eger et al. 2015a; present study). In Mexico it has been recorded in the states of Chiapas, Nayarit and Veracruz ( Rodríguez 1992). Here we record for the first time its presence in Oaxaca.
