Distribution: North Africa, Europe, Turkey, Georgia? ( World Spider Catalog 2024).
Comment: Denis (1937a) cited only 1 female from Zouagha forest (Mila). Despite numerous sampling campaigns in Algeria over several decades since this citation, this species has never been found in Algeria. Given that female Walckenaeria (Prosopotheca) are very difficult to identify without the presence of males, and given the number of species described since then, we very much doubt Denis’s identification and the presence of Walckenaeria corniculans in Algeria. All the more so as Bosmans & De Smet 1993 have already raised doubts about the presence of this species in North Africa.
