Dyscolus Dejean, 1831 View in CoL
Dyscolus Dejean, 1831: 437 View in CoL .
Colpodes MacLeay View in CoL : Chaudoir, 1859: 289; Chaudoir, 1878: 278. Platynus Bonelli View in CoL : Whitehead, 1973: 175.
Dyscolus Dejean View in CoL : Moret, 1989: 143; Moret & Murienne, 2021: 10. Austroglyptolenus Roig-Juñent, 2003: 44 View in CoL , syn. nov.
The type species of Austroglyptolenus Roig-Juñent, 2003 View in CoL , A. mendozensis Roig-Juñent, 2003 View in CoL , is a very close relative of the species treated below, Dyscolus aequinoctialis Chaudoir, 1850 View in CoL . The inclusion of D. aequinoctialis View in CoL in the genus Dyscolus View in CoL is supported by a phylogenetic analysis of the COI genetic marker (Moret & Murienne 2021, Fig. 2, SUM 193-18, under the name Dyscolus subviolaceus View in CoL ). Austroglyptolenus View in CoL is therefore considered a junior synonym of Dyscolus View in CoL .
