Palorus depressus (Fabricius, 1790)
status

Palorus depressus (Fabricius, 1790)

Köhler 2011a: 130; 2012: 125.

Material. 3 exx., Luxembourg, VII.[1900], V. Ferrant lgt. ( MNHNL 138501–03).

Note. A minute, saproxylic, thermophilic species, recorded from all adjacent regions ( Lillig 1999; Thomaes et al. 2025). Very rare in the Netherlands ( Everts 1903) and Lorraine ( Géhin 1846; Fournel & Géhin 1847; Godron 1863) and recorded in Belgium only since the 1990s, it became extinct in northern Germany after the 1950s ( Köhler & Klausnitzer 1998) and is considered endangered in Saarland ( Lillig 1999). The species appears to be undergoing a southward range contraction, most likely driven exclusively by climatic factors.
