Comments. This species was recently described in Boucher & Pollet (2025) based on a specimen from the Amazon forest of Mitaraka, French Guiana. Thus, this is the first record from Brazil. The specimen analyzed was found feeding on dead fish at the margin of a large river (Araguaia River), this being the first record of this behavior observed in a species of Phytobia .
