Differential diagnosis

Within this species group, D. gemmula is the most similar due to the similarly shaped R3 swelling, the smooth R2 and the overall smooth shell surface. Nevertheless, the aperture of D. gemmula is not fringed. Dicharax lahupaensis is also similar, but it has elevated R2 ribs (smooth in D. daflaensis ), and its R3 swelling is situated at a greater distance from the aperture. Dicharax pachitaensis (Godwin-Austen, 1886) has a less elevated R3 swelling, stronger R1 ribs, more rounded aperture, and a keeled umbilical part of R2. See also under D. crenatus .
