( Figs. 36–38 View Figs )

Type Series. Holotype and 1 paratype. 2 males (1 holotype CMNC, 1 UNSM) labeled: “ CUBA: Holguín Prov. / Parque Nacional La Mensura   GoogleMaps / mixed pine forest / 20.52722°N, 75.76699°W / 736 m; MV lights; 11-V-2013 / A.B.T.Smith, F.Cala-Riquelme ”.

Diagnosis. Elytra pruinose; clypeus strongly bilobed ( Fig. 36 View Figs ); antennal club much shorter than funicle and scape; pronotal lateral margin entire; prosternum with two spines basal to procoxae; metasternum glabrous; abdominal sternite 5 opaque/ pruinose laterally, glabrous medially; pygidium disc glabrous; male genitalia distinct as in Fig. 37 View Figs .

Holotype Description. Length 13 mm, width 7 mm. Dorsal surface shiny brown with purplish gray, patchy, pruinose reflections on elytra. Head and pronotum without pruinosity ( Fig. 36 View Figs ). Head: Surface moderately to strongly punctate with deep, well-defined punctures; glabrous. Clypeus with apex reflexed, deeply sinuate (bilobed) with middle slightly more than half length of sides. Frontoclypeal suture well-defined by line and punctures, clypeus and frons in same plane. Frons slightly depressed along medial line. Antennae with 9 antennomeres; club approximately 3 times shorter than funicle and scape; club, funicle, and scape shiny. Pronotum: Surface moderately to strongly punctate with deep, well-defined punctures; glabrous. Apical angles moderately acute; lateral margins entire (not crenulate), widest medially. Elytra: Surface moderately to strongly punctate with deep, well-defined punctures; some scattered punctures with single seta. Striae poorly defined, obscure. Legs: Protibia with 3 teeth, 2 nd tooth distinctly closer to apical tooth. Meso- and metatibia without medial carinae, with spines on lateral margin. Metatibial spurs unmodified, shorter spur approximately 3/4 length of longer spur. Claws symmetrical with medial triangular tooth, apex unmodified. Venter: Prosternum with 2 spines behind procoxae. Metasternum glabrous, medially shiny, and laterally with opaque/pruinose coating. Abdominal sternites shiny, abdominal sternite 5 laterally with opaque/pruinose coating. Pygidium: Surface strongly punctate with large, well-defined punctures; glabrous; shiny except with opaque/ pruinose coating along margin of base. Male genitalia: As in Fig. 37 View Figs .

Variation. None observed.

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Franklyn Cala Riquelme (Centro Oriental de Ecosistemas y Biodiversidad, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba) in appreciation of his collegiality during the field expedition and in recognition of his work on Cuban arachnids.

Distribution ( Fig. 38 View Figs ). C U B A: H o l g u í n: Parque Nacional Mensura-Piloto, 20.52722°N, 75.76699°W (2).

Temporal Data. May (2).

Remarks. This species keys to couplet 23 in Chapin (1932) but does not match the description or genitalic illustrations of P. cardini or P. speculifera .
