( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 )
Diagnosis. Species of Martensocelis about 3 mm long, with pharynx at mid-body, and ovaries just in front of pharynx. With about 30 testes in one row in front of ovaries; vitellarian follicles behind the pharynx. With two long seminal vesicles and two large extra-capsular bundles of prostate glands. With a slightly recurve stylet, 95 µm long and 2 µm wide, with a proximal opening 6 µm across. Its distal tip is surrounded by about ten needles, with variously sclerified, pointed distal tips, and stalks 10–15µm long, only noticeable in a few of them. These small needles and distal tips are no longer visible in the whole mount, but could be drawn and measured in the freshly mounted specimen.
Occurrence. Pirates Bay Beach , Eaglehawk Neck ( Tasmania, Australia). Intertidal (Lat. –43.016365; Long. 147.927026) ( October 1993) .
Material studied. One specimen studied alive and mounted as holotype ( QM G241935 ) .
Etymology. Species name derived from the locality: Latin for “of the eagle”.
