General distribution. The nominotypical subspecies occurs in Anatolia, Syria, Lebanon, and Israel (see Jansson 1995, Aukema et al. 2013).
Remarks. The other subspecies S. samani tigranes Jansson, 1986 differs from the nominotypical one by differences in the shape of pala, length of the distal peg row of pala, and shape of left paramere and it occurs allopatrically further east: eastern Anatolia, Syria, and northwestern Iran ( Jansson 1986).
