General distribution. From the records currently available (see Schuh et al. 1987, Lindskog 1995, Fent et al. 2011, Aukema et al. 2013) the distribution of this species would seem typically Europeo-Mediterranean.
Remarks. Records from Kurdistan ( Iran) by Sakenin et al. (2011) and Samin et al. (2011) (quoted by Ghahari et al. 2013) require confirmation (as already suggested by Vinokurov & Kment 2015), since they could belong to other congeneric species occurring in Iran (see Lindskog 1995). However, if confirmed the distribution of this species should be understood as extended to the Turanic area and therefore it would mean that records in the east part of the species range are completely missing.
