Head subspherical often with clypeus produced anteriorly; antennae located above a line through middle of eye; antenniferous tubercles reduced; antennal segment IV usually short and somewhat swollen; distal ends of femora usually swollen; peritreme of metathoracic scent gland usually uniquely produced, often as an elongate spine; corium usually in part desclerotized; nymphs with dorsal abdominal scentgland openings between terga III/IV and IV/V, or only between terga III/IV; nymphs usually with glandular setae.
