Type species: Idricerus exilis McLachlan, 1894: 424 .
Diagnosis. Large or medium-sized species. Head as broad as thorax. Antennae reach two-thirds of wing length. Eyes undivided. Thorax robust. Wings hyaline, but sometimes costal area of forewing and cubital and radial areas in hindwing brown in color. Venation dense. Apex of wings rounded; apical area broad with three or more rows of cells in both wings; weakly produced blunt protuberance in anal area of forewing. Pterostigma rhomboid, slightly longer in hindwing than that in forewing. Before and after origin of radius sector, cells (2–5) divided by transverse veins. Legs short and strong. Tibial spurs as long as tarsal segments 1–2 combined in fore and middle legs. Abdomen considerably shorter than length of wings. Sexual dimorphism negligible.
Distribution. The distribution of the genus is typically found only in the Oriental realm and transitional areas with the eastern Palaearctic: China, India, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam ( Ábrahám 2023).
