TYPE SPECIES: Cordilura fraterna Meigen, 1826 (as “ Cordylura Albilabris Meig. ”), by original designation. CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Gorodkov (1986: 27) ]. FAMILY: SCATHOPHAGIDAE . REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Trichopalpus (page
100) and Tricopalpus (page 225). Acting as First Reviser, we select Trichopalpus as the correct original spelling, which relegates Tricopalpus ( q. v.) to unavailable name status.
