TYPE SPECIES: Mycetobia pallipes Meigen, 1818 , automatic [by designation of the same species (by subsequent designation of Westwood, 1840: 127) for Mycetobia Meigen, 1818 ].
CURRENT STATUS: Unnecessary new replacement name for Mycetobia Meigen, 1818 (as “ Micetobia Mgn. 1818 ”); junior synonym of Mycetobia Meigen, 1818 [ teste Coquillett (1910: 569) ].
FAMILY: ANISOPODIDAE .
REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1861e): Micetoica (page 12) and Mycetoica (page 169). Acting as First Reviser, we select Micetoica as the correct original spelling, which relegates Mycetoica ( q. v.) to unavailable name status. The Junk 1914 facsimile edition of Rondani (1861e) has the spelling mistakenly printed as “ Micltoica ” on page 12.
