CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Clytiomya Rondani, 1861 ; junior synonym of Clytiomya Rondani, 1861 . New synonymy.

REMARKS: This is one of two original spellings (the other is Clitiomya , page 232) in Rondani (1862d), both of which are eligible as emendations by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “y” to “i” ( Clitiomya ) or “mya” to “myia” ( Clytiomyia ) in the same work; however, as both names are used for the same taxon ( Clytiomya Rondani, 1861 ), they cannot both be emendations. Acting as First Reviser, we select Clytiomyia as the correct original spelling, which relegates Clitiomya ( q. v.) to unavailable name status.
