5. Cratolocustopsis View in CoL and Mesolocustopsis are not synonyms
While Mesolocustopsis View in CoL is defined by one branch of CuA + CuPaα and three branches of M (with MA2 contacting MA1), Cratolocustopsis View in CoL possesses two branches of both CuA + CuPaα and M. These character combinations justify their distinction as separate genera. Unfortunately, earlier figures of C. cretacea View in CoL and C. contumax ( Martins-Neto, 2003) View in CoL did not clearly depict these venation patterns. However, review of the holotype as well as new material of C. cretacea View in CoL confirms the diagnostic features of Cratolocustopsis View in CoL and supports its validity.
