Distribution. Sri Lanka.

Biological notes. This species has been reported to cause damage to a wide range of hosts. Nietner (1864) recorded the injury caused by this species to coffee plantations. Light (1928) reported it as a pest on tea. Dadap ( Erythrina lithosperma ), leguminous crops, fruits like orange, Zizyphus jujuba and loquat have been found to suffer damage by this species ( Poorani & Ramamurthy 1997).
