Remarks. Goding (1925) describes the genus as having the characters of Carineta except for the nine fore wing apical cells.

Type species. Novemcella ecuatoriana Goding 1925: 30 (Azuay, Ecuador).

Included species. Novemcella ecuatoriana Goding, 1925 .

Distribution. The only species of Novemcella has been reported only from Ecuador (Goding 1925; Sanborn 2020e).
