Family Tetrigidae Rambur, 1838 View in CoL

Type genus. Tetrix Latreille, 1802 View in CoL ( type species Gryllus subulatus Linnaeus, 1758 ).

Distribution and composition. The whole world, except for New Zealand and Antarctica ( Tumbrinck 2014). Altogether 2020 species, assigned to 275 genera, 18 tribes and 8 subfamilies ( Cigliano et al. 2020).
