often grows in urban areas such as parks and gardens, near roads, etc. ( Kotlaba, 1984; Gáper, 1998; Sokół, 2000; Gáperová, 2001; Kotlaba, Pouzar, 2009b), but in warmer regions it also occurs in forest environment ( Kotlaba, Pouzar, 2009a). It prefers hosts of the genus Quercus , but it is known from many other deciduous trees ( Kotlaba, 1984; Breitenbach, Kränzlin, 1986; Bernicchia, 2005; Ryvarden, Melo, 2014).
