GENUS MELEOMA Fitch, 1855 View in CoL

Meleoma Fitch, 1855: 786 ; 1856: 81–82. Type species: Meleoma signoretti Fitch, 1855 ; monotypy.

Meleoma is a New World genus ( New 2001). It is distributed from North America to northern South America ( Brooks and Barnard 1990), with 28 described species ( Penny 2006). Larvae are generally naked ( Monserrat et al. 2001). In Canada, there are four species, as follows:
