Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 3.23–3.82mm; female, 2.98–4.05mm. Width, male, 1.97–2.14mm; female, 1.69–2.25mm. As for T. montana but elytra rounded, much less elongate; scales of pronotum and elytral intervals plumose, arched apically; scales of strial regions longer, suberect and arched, giving dorsum a much more shaggy appearance. Abdominal ventrite 5 not impressed in either sex. Aedeagus as in Fig. 187 View FIGURES 187–189 .

Geographical distribution. México ( Chiapas).

Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest and wet oak forest leaf litter at elevations of from 2650–2910m.

Derivation of specific name. Noun in apposition; from the Latin scopulus , meaning a projecting point of rock, in reference to the occurrence of this species at the top of Cerro Huitepec.
