Distribution.— Thailand, Myanmar.
Ecology.—In evergreen forests and disturbed thickets along trails, 210–300 m alt.
Vernacular.—Phak plap Welzen ( ผักปลาบเวลเซน, Thai).
Notes.— Amischotolype welzeniana is similar to A. glabrata in that it has sessile inflorescences that are borne on the erect portion of the stem, but it has glabrous leaf sheaths, narrowly oblong and larger stamens, and glabrous capsules. Duistermaats (2012) described and illustrated this species using Maxwell 85-955 at L specimens, which were designated as the holotype. However, this specimen at L has two duplicates: the first has a prostrate stem with roots ( L 0818338), while the second has a stem, leaves, and inflorescences ( L 0916531). These specimens are syntypes under the Code’s Article 40.2 ( Turland et al., 2018). As a result, we chose specimen L0916531 at L as the lectotype because it is complete and more associated with the protologue.
