Lectotype (designated by Turner, 1996):— MALAYSIA. Peninsular Malaysia, Malacca, Maingay 1712 ( lectotype: K000291913 !).

Synonym:— ≡ Forrestia griffithii C.B.Clarke in A.DC. & C.DC. (1881: 236).

Thai specimens examined:— THAILAND. PENINSULAR: Trang: Khao Phap Pha , 11 Mar. 1974, Larsen & Larsen 33177 ( AAU!). Distribution.— Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia.

Ecology.—Swampy areas in hill-ever-green and gallery forests, ca 150 m alt.

Vernacular.—Ueang dok daeng ( เอื้องดอกแดง, Thai)( Narathiwat).

Notes.— Amischotolype griffithii is distinguished by its leaf blades with densely velvety hairs on both surfaces, reddish hairs on the mouth of leaf sheaths and brownish submarginal hairs.
