Lectotype (designated by Duistermaats, 2012):— MALAYSIA. Peninsular Malaysia, Perak, Waterloo Estate, ‘this specimen flowered in the Botanic Garden of Penang’ 1890, Curtis s. n. ( lectotype: SING0370321 About SING !).

Synonym:— ≡ Forrestia monosperma C.B. Clarke in Hallier f. (1898: 359).

Thai specimens examined:— THAILAND. PENINSULAR: Songkhla: Sadao, Khao Wong Phra Chan Limestone Outcrop, 19 Jan. 2016, Satthaporn 47 ( PSU!). Yala: Waterfall at Yala, 21 Oct. 1970, Charoenphol et al. 4129 ( AAU!, BKF!). Narathiwat: Waeng, Bala-Hala, 17 Aug. 2003, Puudjaa 1213 ( BKF!).

Distribution.— Thailand, Myanmar, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo.

Ecology.—At forest margins and gallery forests, often in wet areas, along stream or riverbanks, 100–300 m alt.

Vernacular.—Phak plap khon thong ( ผักปลาบขนทอง, Thai).

Notes.—The species resembles A. marginata by having a distinct peduncle but differs by the presence of a single seed in each locule and abundant golden-rusty pubescence on the capsules and leaf sheaths.
