Philanthus venustus View in CoL is widely distributed in the Palaearctic region, where it is also recorded from Egypt (Sinai) and Israel. The record from Djibouti is not mentioned in DE DALLA TORRE (1897: 493) and BOHART & MENKE (1976: 567).
