Type material. Holotype ♂ ( Pl. 2 View PLATE 2 : Fig. 11 View PLATE 1 ): / BRAZIL — Minas Gerais ( MG), Santa Bárbara, Santuário do Caraça, Tanque Grande , 1278 m, 12–16.XI.2023, S 20° 6'9.76", W 43°29'37.99", E. Joerke & C. Mielke leg./ DZ 15.548 / HOLOTYPUS, Cibyra jane C. Mielke, Grehan & Koike, 2024 / ( CEIOC) .
Paratype (in total 1 ♂). 1 ♂, same data as holotype ( CGCM 48.001 ; CEIOC) .
Diagnosis. Easily distinguished from its congeners by: i) dorsal reddish background, especially on the HW
( Pl. 2 View PLATE 2 : Fig. 11 View PLATE 1 ), ii) tergal lobes projected, iii) tip of the valvae truncate, and iv) posterior margin of the saccus pronounced, reinforced and deeply concave mesally (Pl. 14, Fig. 8 View PLATE 1 ; see arrow).
Description. Male ( Pl. 2 View PLATE 2 : Fig. 11 View PLATE 1 , Pl. 10: Fig. 8 View PLATE 1 ). Forewing length: 12–20 mm, wingspan: 27–39 mm. Epiphysis present.
Male genitalia (Pl. 14: Fig. 8 View PLATE 1 , Pl. 19: Fig. 8 View PLATE 1 ). Saccus with its posterior edge pronounced, reinforced and deeply concave mesally. Tergal lobes projected. Pseudotegumen anteriorly less reinforced than posteriorly. Fultura inferior trapezoidal as long as wide. Valvae with tip truncate.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Endemic to the Santuário do Caraça in Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil at altitudes between about 1200 and 1500 m (Pl. 25: Fig. 2 View PLATE 1 ).
Etymology. Homonym in honour of Jane Costa (CEIOC), feminine. It is treated as a noun in the nominative singular in apposition.
Remarks. Sympatric and synchronic to C. regina sp. nov. only within the species-group.
