Diagnosis:— Dolichandra cynanchoides can be recognized by the branchlets light purple( vs. green in other Dolichandra species), and by the reflexed corolla lobes and stipitate ovary ( vs. straight corolla lobes and sessile ovary in other Dolichandra species).

Reproductive Period:— Flowering from December to February, fruiting in February.

Distribution and Habitat:— It occurs in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Cultivated worldwide ( Lohmann 2010, Lohmann & Taylor 2014, Fonseca et al. 2017). Within the study area, it was registered in Capanema, Foz do Iguaçu, Lindoeste, and in the PARNA Iguazú , mainly on rivers’ banks. Collected for the first time since 1966 (Lindeman 3476) in the PARNA Iguaçu ( Caxambu 9114).
