Type material examined. Holotype SPAIN: ♂, labeled as “El Escorial, La Granja”, MNHN-AR1603 . Paratypes 22♀, same collection data as for holotype .

Diagnosis: Zodarion gregua can be distinguished from other species within the styliferum group by its straight tibial apophysis, which slightly narrows towards the end and bears a small tooth visible in the ventral view ( Fig. 34K View FIGURE 34 ), and the mushroom-shaped epigynal plate, anterolaterally limited by semi-circular margins ( Figs 38E View FIGURE 38 , 41E View FIGURE 41 ).

Description: For a detailed description of the habitus and male palp, refer to Bosmans (1994). Epigyne ( Fig. 41E View FIGURE 41 ): Epigynal plate mushroom-shaped, anteriorly limited by a semi-circular margin, posteriorly widened. Epigynal plate with a longitudinal antero-median septum, elongated toward the posterior part of epigyne. Sides of the epigynal plate distinctly S-shaped. Epigyne with a pair of copulatory openings on the antero-lateral sides of the septum; these copulatory openings linked to a pair of lateral pits by connecting grooves.

Molecular data:

COI mitochondrial barcodes (Genbank accession): MT370078 View Materials , PP373368, PP373369 .

Maximum intraspecific COI divergence (n=3): 0.9 %. Minimum interspecific divergence (to Z. jozefienae ): 2.6%. Consensus COI distance to the closest species (to Z. styliferum ): 2.6%.
