Species groups and species composition
A total of 14 species groups have been established for the genus, six of which have been confirmed to exist in Iberia ( Bosmans 1997, 2009; Shafaie & Pekár 2024). Below, the Iberian rubidum View in CoL and styliferum View in CoL groups are listed, with additional details on diagnostic characters. The species groups are listed alphabetically and followed by the included species in alphabetical order.
The rubidum View in CoL group in Iberia
Members of this group share the following characters: tibial apophysis robust, resembling a curved blade, with or without a lateral hump and a terminal tooth. Median apophysis reverse U-shaped or inclined C-shaped. Embolus wide, accompanied by a subterminal tooth wider or equally wide. Epigyne always with two copulatory openings. Epigynal plate variable in shape, including bell-shaped, lip-shaped, sub-trapezoidal with a longitudinal septum, or sub-quadrate with a lamellar-shield.
